Sports Gala Days

Year 5-6 students participate in four Gala Days each year. Gala Days are held each term with all students in Year 5 and 6 having the opportunity to participate in sports days with other school.

Breakfast Club

We run a Breakfast Club at St Finn Barr’s Monday through to Friday mornings from 8:15am to 8.30am. We provide Toast and Milo and the opportunity for a chat before class.

Catholic Schools Instrumental Music Program

As well as having a Specialist Music Teacher, Grade Three to Six Students are given the option of being part of a School Band or Strings Group (at parents expense) in school time, working with Tutors from St Patrick's College, using own or hired instruments). This group meets weekly, with soiree's held each term and a Concert at the end of the year. This program is an excellent way for children to become involved in music.

Basketball Tournaments

The Basketball tournament is held each year in October. Students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are offered the opportunity to participate in this weekend event.

Acknowledgement of Country

St Finn Barr’s Catholic School is located on the Country of the Tayarinutipana, the Panina and the Litarimirina people of the Stoney Creek Nations, who belong to the land above the floodplains where the three rivers, kanamaluka, plipatumila and laykila meet. We acknowledge and deeply respect the Palawa people, the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community, and all Elders past and present. We are committed to learning alongside our students and community in this place and support the continued sharing of knowledge and Culture.
